A Visit From A Bobcat

We are close to Mothers Day and this happened right around then a few years ago.

There I was having a cuppa on my back screened in porch and then this special treat happened…..

Well hello to you too!

Sneaking away?

Being extra sneaky right now.

Yep, I can still see you too!

So glad my little buddy wasn’t out there at the time!

Monarch Butterflies Have Been Very Busy!

Here are a few photos of the plentiful Monarch Caterpillars in our garden right now. We always plant their host plant, Milkweed, but there never seems enough to go around.

When I got up close they tried to “hide” away under a leaf. So cute. In a few days there will be zero Milkweed left and then they will undergo metamorphosis.

Florida Native Plants? Yes Please!

Here is an interesting post by Bob Silverman posted on the Florida Native Plant Society. It focuses on plants that will grow easily in our sandy soil without much attention or water and can withstand our brutal summers as well! Win win folks. Enjoy the lovely photos he posted too.

Owl is back!

Has a chick or two in there. Can’t wait to see the babies. They typically start popping their heads out around May when strong enough.
